How the magic works

No buttons for little fingers to figure out. If they can put a toy down, they can start a story.

  1. Get the app

Download Little Cubbie Playtime on your phone or tablet.

    App Store Google Play

  2. Tap the cubbie

Hold the toy against the phone. The chip inside tells the app who has arrived.

  3. Listen together

Stories, songs and games play through the phone's speaker, gently paced for little ears.

Want zero screens? The same cubbies also play on the Cubbie Box, a little speaker your child runs all by themselves. See the Cubbie Box

A note for grown-ups

Not all screen time is equal. Cubbie stories are slow, warm and written for small ears, so the phone becomes a storyteller instead of a scroll.

Questions parents ask

Which phones and tablets work?

Little Cubbie Playtime runs on compatible phones and tablets that can read NFC, the same tap technology used for contactless payments. The quick setup guide shows exactly what you need.

Do I need the Cubbie Box too?

No. A cubbie and the Little Cubbie Playtime app are all you need. The Cubbie Box is an optional speaker for completely screen-free play.

What does one cubbie unlock?

30+ stories, songs, games and activities about that character, ready the moment the toy touches your device.

Does the toy need batteries or charging?

No. Each cubbie is a sturdy rubber figure with its chip sealed inside. The phone powers the chip when they touch, so there is nothing to charge or plug in.

What age is it for?

Ages 3 and up. The content is written by teachers and paced for little listeners, so it works for bedtime as well as busy mornings.
